What We Offer

Our Services

Professional eye care across eight specialties — all under one roof at Bridge City Medical Centre, KwaMashu.

👁️

Comprehensive Eye Testing

A full clinical examination of the health and function of your eyes using the latest diagnostic technology. Our eye tests assess visual acuity, eye pressure, retinal health, binocular vision, colour vision, and more.

Suitable for all ages — including children from age 3. We recommend an eye test every 12 to 24 months, or sooner if you experience any vision changes.

Contact Lens Fitting & Supply

Contact lens fitting involves a specialised assessment to determine the correct lens type, base curve, diameter and power for your eyes. We fit daily disposable, monthly, extended-wear and toric (astigmatism) lenses.

Existing patients can re-order their lenses easily — no need for an appointment.

Prescription Sunglasses

KwaZulu-Natal receives some of the highest levels of UV radiation in South Africa. Prescription sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful UV-A and UV-B rays while correcting your vision — available in polarised and photochromic options.

💻

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Digital screens emit blue light wavelengths that can cause eye strain, headaches, disrupted sleep, and visual fatigue. Blue light filtering lenses reduce this exposure — essential for office workers, students, and anyone spending extended time on phones, tablets or computers.

📖

Reading Glasses

Presbyopia (age-related near-vision loss) typically develops after age 40. We offer a wide selection of reading glasses — both over-the-counter and fully prescribed — to help you read comfortably and clearly.

🔬

Ophthalmology Health Screenings

Using the latest optical devices, we conduct specialised screenings for conditions including glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. Early detection is critical for preserving long-term vision.

We recommend annual screenings for patients with diabetes, a family history of glaucoma, or those over 50 years of age.
